Arun Bhaduri

Master singer of Bengali songs and bhajans and a top Indian radio and television artist, Pt. Arun Bhaduri has devoted much of his energy to passing his knowledge on. He serves as guru (teacher) at ITC Sangeet Research Academy. Bhaduri's understanding of Bengal's musical tradition represents the combined efforts of numerous teachers from whom he learned. Taught the basic rudiments of Indian music by Md. A. Daud and Md. Sagiruddin Khan, he went on to study at the Sangeet Research Academy with the late Ustad Ishtiaq Hussain Khan of the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana. He later studied light and classical Indian music with Padmashree Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh. ~ Craig Harris
