Houston, Texas rapper
Ashton Travis follows in the footsteps of his associate
Travis Scott, with bass-driven beats and often heartfelt vocals.
Although
Travis tried at a music career back in 2011, it wasn't until 2019 that he gained any traction. He was already signed to
Scott's label, Cactus Jack's, but his signing to
Def Jam and the inclusion of his song "Death Row" on their 2019 compilation
Undisputed put him on the radar. The following year saw many collaborations with fellow Cactus Jack's signees, most notably the track "Casino" alongside
Chase B. His debut EP,
Phoenix Mode, arrived later the same year on
Def Jam. ~ Liam Martin
