Los Angeles-based musician Atto Attie is the bassist for the goth pop group Darling Violetta, best known for their theme for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel. While still a member of that band, Atto recorded (mostly on his own) his first solo album, 14 Rounds With the Killer Blondes, which was released in 1999. Considerably different from the harsh goth rock of his main band, the considerably poppier and more progressive-feeling (in the King Crimson-meets-Barclay James Harvest sense) 14 Rounds With the Killer Blondes hearkens to both European film soundtracks of the '60s and Frank Zappa's more lyrical moments. © Stewart Mason /TiVo
