Bambu

Formed in 1997 by classically trained popular musicians, the group Bambu makes use of an original formation: harp (former first harpist of the Municipal Theater, Cristina Braga), voice (Barbara Lau), harmonica (José Stanek), and bass (Ricardo Medeiros). Their first album came in 1998, with originals, folkloric songs, and classics by Tom Jobim, Dorival Caymmi, and Edu Lobo. Having confirmed their musical qualities in shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Bambu recorded their second album in 2000. ~ Alvaro Neder
