Baraton

Maite Mathakgane (born October 04, 1994) known professionally as Baraton, is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter and recording artist born in Senwabarwana , Limpopo. Raised in Tembisa, Gauteng. Baraton started music at an early age, from accompanying his late mom to choir practices, to part taking in local theater groups, being in the Ingqayizivele High School Choir, dancing at Indigenous Dance Academy from 2011 to 2014. Baraton then started a band called "The Boys over Beats" in his varsity days 2014-2017 performing all over Gauteng with his partner Fez Trombone. 2017 is the year where Baraton began recording as a solo artist, released first EP under New Religion Entertainment. He then released more music under his label with best friend and producer Trevor Montjane "King Tipps" called "Poto Hoto Entertainment" from 2018 till date. Releases include Food For The Soul Series (from part 1 to 3), Mohlaloga EPs (1 & 2), Hook And Verse IV Her EP, B.O.S.T Mixtape, etc
