Electronic-based duo
Cardiknox make hooky, heartfelt, dance-oriented pop. Formed in 2013,
Cardiknox features the talents of vocalist Lonnie Angle and multi-instrumentalist
Thomas Dutton. Originally hailing from Seattle, the duo met and moved to New York together in 2010 while working an off-Broadway musical, Razia's Shadow: A Musical; a show based an album by
Dutton's then band
Forgive Durden. While the musical was well received, both Angle and
Dutton realized they wanted to pursue their own project. By 2014, they had released a handful of songs online including "Black Wayfarers" and "Hold Me Down," garnering them positive attention. Based on these tracks,
Cardiknox (a reworking of Angle's mother's maiden-name Cardinaux) relocated to Los Angeles to record with Grammy-winning producer
John Shanks. In 2016, they released their debut full-length album,
