Caterwaul

The most memorable aspect of Caterwaul will always be Betsy Martin's tipsy, tuneless singing -- a voice that is distinct if not altogether pleasurable. Pin & Web and Portent Hue, both on IRS Records, ended the '90s on an off-key note. They are jagged, dissonant affairs which the band did their best to burnish on the next release Killer Fish.
