Robert Bjerknes Holshagen, (born april 13, 1991) better known as the Norwegian artist-producer, CRONIKL. CRONIKL, at the age of four, started attending band rehearsals of his then stepfather. He quickly caught an eye for the drums and ever since fell in love with the music. Very soon, he wanted to start a band of his own but lack of friends with the same interests made him look somewhere else. At the age of 17 he started producing beats trough his computer, and he kept the progression of his craft ever since. CRONIKL wanted to take his music to the next level and so he decided, in 2011, to study music and sound production at, Noroff Oslo. In the capital of Norway, he formed a close friendship with label mates PVCIFY and manager GxxMARIO. CRONIKL and PVCIFY started to take inspiration from eachother early on, and so they started to work with an artist that today is known as, Finding Muzyamba. They quickly ‘clicked’ together and decided to form a group under the name of Generation XX. In 2014 they released a song "Clusters" that which no one other than Noisey/ Vice opt to premiere. They even reviewed the production as "something of a Norwegian Kanye West." December 2015 they released "Nightmoves", a song that spread trough various playlists. Soon enough, CRONIKL and the rest of the crew decided to keep the absolute control over their creative output and the means by which its promoted. They established a LLT company that represents their commercial interests, and turned the group Generation XX into an indie music collective. Although the collective is hugely inspired of Houston & Atlanta music scene, CRONIKL has overtime developed his own sound signature, that GxxMUSIC proudly presents. With barely any marketing, CRONIKL’s debut single > gained over 50k streams. The single was on rotation at Norwegian national channel mP3 and Shazam trending in several Norwegian cities. According to critics, CRONIKL’s genre-bending approach draws from a range of styles, from synth-pop and trip-hop to electronica and contemporary Hip Hop and R&B. Influences include Hudson Mohawke, Lorn, Justice, Kanye West, 40, Timbaland, Travis scott, Majid Jordan and of course his teammate PVCIFY. As of now CRONIKL is planning to debut his first EP project sometime next year.
