Da Floataz is an American rap duo made up of Indeux Shabazz and Rappin’ Mitch a/k/a GRANDE MITCHO. The collective grew up in Charlotte, NC during the early 1990’s. Their rebellious sound, a mix of southern trap, crunk and soul was influenced and inspired by a wide range of artists and creators, including T.I., Rick Ross, J. Cole, Scarface and 2Pac. The duo both have an assortment of solo projects and have gained local recognition throughout their hometown of Charlotte, however it wasn’t until late 2020 that they decided to link up for their first project, Drop Tha Addy, which included feature artist Westside Ree. This album was initially slated to be a one time offering. However, based on the regional success of the project, which landed highly favorable reviews from local taste makers, this would be the indicator that a collaborative project should become more. With a host of indie shows, events and recording sessions throughout the spring/summer of 2021 the soundscape of Da Floataz had been born.
