A goopy sludge of lurching bass and garbled feedback etched with vocal vitriol. Singer Victoria Scalisi is the proud of owner of some of the deepest pipes in the guttural metal business. Her vocals don't just sound unfeminine -- they sound downright inhuman. Though nearly half a decade passed between the release of the debut and 2000's Burning Cold, Damad had lost none of their fervor or ire. The morbidly pessimistic music of Damad plumbs the depths of human experience. Few may care to follow.
