A project of artists (Kid-606, Lesser, and Matmos' Drew Daniel and Martin Schmidt), Disc create collages of found digital sound. The familiar glitching sound of skipping CDs and the skittering of finely sliced samples are arranged to form tracks that range from surreal Ambient landscapes to frenetic noise attacks. They create a tension between the chance operations performed by malfunctioning equipment and the exacting precision digital audio can provide. Sometimes ornate, sometimes clinical -- always unpredictable.
