DJ Casper

American DJ and songwriter known as DJ Casper was born Willie Perry Jr. in Chicago, Illinois in 1971. He released his debut album in 1999 titled 'Out Champ' but his best known hit is the dance craze single 'Casper Slide Pt. 1', also known as 'Cha Cha Slide' and is a track which began life as an aerobic fitness track which he created as a favour for his nephew who was a personal trainer who wanted music for his workout sessions. The song gained traction with dance audiences around the globe and in 2000 it topped the UK charts as well as performing well in the US and some European listings.In 2004 Perry had another dance hit with his remake of 'Oops Upside Your Head' which had previously been a funk anthem performed by The Gap Band who enjoyed a major hit with the track in 1979.
