Dj Lambo

Olawunmi Okerayi, known by her stage name DJ Lambo, is a self-taught multi-award winning Nigerian disc jockey. Defining her sound as a fusion of Afrobeats and Afro-house. Influenced heavily by her father; DJ Tony Lewis, her professional career began in 2008–2009 as a Radio personality (OAP) on Raypower 100.5 FM, Rhythm FM 94.7 Abuja, and Love 104.5 FM Abuja after graduating with a degree in English & Literature. She then went on to become the official DJ for Africa’s number one rapper M.I. Abaga and was signed to Loopy Music in 2013 before its merger with Chocolate City Music in 2015. DJ Lambo was named the head and president of Choc Boi Nation (CBN), a record imprint of Chocolate City Music in 2017. With this announcement, she became one of the major female record label executives in the music industry in Nigeria. In 2016, she launched her company “707 Worldwide” and started hosting a series of parties titled “Lagos Party Animals”. In addition, to drive house music culture in Nigeria, she started another series of parties, titled “My house on the beach” which has been hosted in Lagos & Abuja with support from Tiger Beer. DJ Lambo has also organized a free concert in computer village Lagos with performances from notable Nigerian superstars in an aim to give as many people as possible (no matter their class in life or ability to afford one) the glorious feeling only live shows have the ability to deliver. DJ Lambo’s career has been filled with very many highlights including being one of the first few DJs invited to play at the Big Brother Naija house in 2017 and every year since then. She’s also a 3x winner of City People Entertainment awards in the DJ of the Year (Female) category by for three consecutive years from 2015 and was listed as one of top five Nigerian DJs to watch out for in 2015 by Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET). She tops this all with the announcement of her debut album ‘A Tale Of Two Cities’ A project influenced by her experiences in Lagos and Johanessburg. Featuring Ice Prince, Zanda Zakuza, Reminisce, Ckay, Lady Donli, Iyanya, Buju, Nizreen Toya Delazy and Nosa, DJ Lambo pulls both worlds sonically into one.
