Dote

Dote

Since 2017, DOTE caught the attention of Germany’s indie music scene through their intensively thought over arrangements on their debut EP North . The group quickly developed a local fan base by playing a great number of festival gigs and club shows. The second EP Centre Court followed up in 2018. After releasing the two singles White Wine and Mango which gained an audience beyond state’s borders with together over half a million plays on Spotify, DOTE has fully become an insider’s tip for fans of contemporary indie-pop music. The band snuggles up 80’s synths and tender guitars. The outcome is a sound which sometimes commands the crowd to dance, other times jumps into a helix of reverb and melancholy. The constellation of having two lead singers whose voices contrast each other in a special way – on the one hand there's the bright one of Lukas and on the other hand the rather dark, vibrant one of Jonah – makes DOTE's sound recognizable just after a few seconds. For 26th March the band announced their third EP 'Broken Heart Economy Class'. DOTE are Jonah, Moritz, Niclas and Lukas. The members got to know each other in their school’s choir. Since then, the band sings about French kisses, cigarettes, the fear of being adult and the “by the way” of their generation. The sound of DOTE has been compared to artists such as The 1975 or Wallows.
