Guitars ring out like car alarms in a bad neighborhood -- clangorous and wailing. Vocals are muffled by the din, struggling to be heard. Entire songs grind down noisily upon themselves like an engine out of oil -- the gears fusing, the pistons freezing, the block about to crack.
