From the artist, "Born Fola Joaquim Branco (February 20,1994) is an American basketball player. Musician composer who influences come from baroque, classical, jazz, doo wop, . Raised in Queens, New York by his parents Stacy Balogun and Akinola Branco till 1998, when Fola's parents had a divorce. Fola describes his upbringing in Far Rockaway, Queens as being very difficult. Fola stated " parents' divorce created confusion on top of the family living in a gang environment, so it was a rough childhood." At a very young age, Fola already witnessed gun violence, police raids, dead bodies, and even in his first day at kindergarten, he fellow classmates fought on the bus and one of them busted their head through the bus window. Fola stated "It's insane, how these kids were only in kindergarten and had that much hate to bash heads through window. He was only 4 years old, his parents separated and would later divorce. Stacey was given custody of two kids she had at the time. The family struggled financially, having to move 8 different places within two years."
