Floating Bridge

Floating Bridge

The line-up of this US Seattle-based rock group included Rich Dangel, Joe Johansen, Joe Johnson and Michael Marinelli. Their sole album, released in 1969, showcased an exciting twin-lead guitar assault and mixed exciting original material with rearranged cover versions, including a rousing rendition of the Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ and a compulsive medley of the Byrds’ ‘Eight Miles High’ and the Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint It, Black’. However, despite their undoubted skills, and the approbation of then-influential English disc jockey, Simon Stable, who penned enthusiastic liner notes on the UK release, Floating Bridge made little commercial headway.
