Montreal's
Foxtrott is the working name of experimental indie-electronic pop singer/songwriter and producer Marie-Hélène L. Delorme. A native of Montreal, Delorme initially studied violin and piano in her youth. Later, influenced by an eclectic mix of reggae, hip-hop, and electronic music, she began making her own remixes; self-releasing under the name MHMHMH. Eventually, Delorme transferred her skills to playing and writing her own songs as
Foxtrott. Her debut EP, Shields, featuring mixing by
Damian Taylor (
Björk,
the Killers,
Arcade Fire), drew favorable attention, and helped garner her more high-profile live shows in Canada and the U.K. In 2015,
Foxtrott returned with her full-length studio album, A Taller Us, featuring the songs "Driven" and "Shaky Hands." ~ Matt Collar
