Freewheel

Freewheel

With their mix of influences that range from Johnny Cash, Lenny Kravitz, Paul Simon and Paul McCartney, Freewheel's sophistication of upbeat folk and pop surfaced after the break-up of their former band The Excuse. Along with the support of Vibrafon Records, Freewheel debuted this sound on a series of singles that were all released in 1997. This includes the "Tribute to Lester Young," "Starfriend" and "Sweet Swedish Winter." Supporting themselves with a tour of their native Sweden, Freewheel's first full-length Starfriend followed in 1998. ~ Mike DaRonco
