Ghost Loft is an outlet for songwriter, producer, and vocalist Danny Choi. The Los Angeles native's predominantly low-key tracks mix sparse and bottom-heavy sounds from contemporary rap and R&B with downtempo electronic music. Remixes of tracks by
Icky Blossoms and
jj gained notice in 2012, while the hazy singles "Seconds" and "So High," both of which were issued the following year, were major steps forward. The latter was featured on the Kitsuné America 2 compilation, while
Wiz Khalifa and
StarGate adapted it for a track of the same title on
Blacc Hollywood, an album that entered the top of the Billboard 200 in 2014. Additional
Ghost Loft singles were issued that year, as was a remix of
Ryn Weaver's "Octahate." The four-track EP Chocolate Haze followed in 2015. ~ Andy Kellman
