Guzzard

Whereas many of the bands on Amphetamine Reptile strayed into the dark wood of Noise Rock, Guzzard maintained a direct course of driving, unrelenting Punk/Metal. At times they sounded like a streamlined Big Black, but unlike Albini and company, the band relied less on arch songwriting or convulsive stabs of guitar dissonance to connect with listeners, and more on the MC5's approach of ripping, guitar-gunning grooves.
