Honduras

Friends since childhood, Patrick Phillips (vocals/guitar) and Tyson Moore (lead guitar) found each other again in a Bushwick basement where they began writing much of what would become Honduras' early material. Inspired by late 70’s punk, but mixing in aspects of garage and indie, Honduras played Brooklyn’s DIY venue scene tirelessly and garnered a reputation for amazing live performances, with comparisons to bands like Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks. Josh Wehle (drums) and Paul Lizarraga (bass) round out the band’s signature polished edge. Their more recent writing has included elements of krautrock and psych to their already energetic tracks for an intellectually developed and interesting sound. While picking up additional attention from serious tastemakers like Rolling Stone, NME, Noisey, Impose, and Fader along the way, the group has shared stages like Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg with notable acts like Blur, Metz, Fidlar, Twin Peaks, Drowners and the Kaiser Chiefs. The band went on their first national tour as support for Oberhofer and released their first full-length, Rituals, in September 2016. The first single from their debut LP, Paralyzed, was in rotation on Sirius Radio XMU and the band was featured in NME's On The Radar section. The album was also streamed by NME and Interview mag upon release. On stage the formula continues, where four good friends exhibit a savvy devil-may-care tightness. Their engaging stage presence is both apropos to their influences and forever exciting to witness in a young and surging project. Honduras will release an EP, Gathering Rust, in March 2016. The 4-song EP demonstrates the intellectual and sonic development of the band as they hit the road for a full year of touring the US and Europe.
