The Hookmonger (known to his oldest music associates by his original artist name ”Dolla Phil”) is an artist with a focus on creating music that blurs the lines between great hip-hop and R&B, bringing a fresh, modern vibe to his sound. The son of a musician & writer who was very known on the LA music scene in the early to late 80’s - Hooky has a unique way with melody and witty lyrical content, a way that has gained him respect among his peers and artists who routinely seek him out for his songwriting services. After over a decade of focusing solely on the songwriting, artist development and the management side of the business and after over 2 years of patiently recreating his sound to a vibe that he and his team felt would better compete in today’s market - he is now preparing to release a string of singles before the release of his double EP “The LoveMonger Project”.
