Hui Aloha

Hawaiian band plays traditional Slack-Key Guitar music, with outstanding ukulele work thrown in for good measure. Hui Aloha's romantic slide guitar and soulful singing transcend the listener to an isolated, sandy beach with clear waters and tropical spirits flowing freely from a coconut grail. Like many of the Slack-Key virtuosos of yesteryear, they manage to keep their music reverent and traditional while respectfully infusing some of their own organic and energetic influences into this age-old style of music. Listening to Hui Aloha's South Pacific folk songs is, in itself, escapism.
