More prolific as a collaborator than as a lead artist, Cedric Norah specializes in feel-good, atmospheric yet down-to-earth R&B infused with funk and hip-hop. As
I Ced, the singer, songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist arrived during the late 2000s with a single, "Love...Meaning," made in collaboration with fellow St. Louis native and Hawthorne Headhunters bandmate
Coultrain. Amid numerous assists on recordings by the likes of
Black Spade,
Blu & Exile, and
Dâm-Funk, Norah has recorded a pair of studio albums. A sample-laced set titled All in My Mind was released on the Record Breakin' label in 2011. The comparatively organic
What Are We Looking For? was self-released five years later. The latter featured input from
Jimetta Rose, Suzi Analogue, Om'Mas Keith, and
Thundercat. ~ Andy Kellman
