Imaginary Bill

Imaginary Bill began in Long Island, NY, in 1999 when vocalist/guitarist Steve Rouach, drummer Mike Smith, and bassist Jed Slattery decided to combine their efforts after years of living together. They were all playing in different bands, but when they jammed together they realized that their combined efforts seemed to work better, so they wrote several songs and jumped into the exciting New York City music scene. Playing with better-known contemporaries as the Strokes, Imaginary Bill released their eponymous debut for Sportin Company in 2000 and continued to play shows in New York. © Bradley Torreano /TiVo
