New York City-based, British-born singer/songwriter
James Maddock makes literate and heartfelt folk and Americana-influenced music. Born in Leicester, England in 1962,
Maddock was a member of the band's Fire Next Time and Wood before embarking on a solo career. He relocated to New York City in 2003, and in 2007 released the EP Strategies for Life. The full-length studio-album,
Sunrise on Avenue C, followed in 2009. In 2010,
Maddock released the concert album Live at the Rockwood Music Hall and returned a year later with the studio effort
Wake Up and Dream. In 2013,
Maddock released his fourth proper studio album,
