Jason Chukwuka Ogbomoh, better known by his stage name Jay Spice, is a rapper and recording artist from Acworth, Georgia. Living outside of the Atlanta city limits allowed Spice to develop his own identity and sound in a city ruled by the trap. Spice boasts his lyricism in every song, verse, and bar. Spice released his first project in March 2016 with the release of BLOOM. The project was centered around the emotions he felt before he decided to take recording seriously. Songs like “Afraid” and “Never Had Dreams” show exactly what BLOOM represents; a coming of age where he begins to materialize his own fears and ambitions into a gray themed, 9-track project. The reaction he received was humbling. He followed up his project announcing Real Records. The platform was created to encourage individuality, and challenge the boundaries of what society finds acceptable. In 2017, he released several singles: Gold Teeth, HAD2LEARN, Horizon, ifyouwantme, and Culture. Jay Spice currently attends the University of Georgia in Athens where he is working on his first album, Grandma’s Boy. The album is set to be released in 2018.
