Jennie Arnau's bold, bluesy voice and artful mix of Southern rock, folk, pop, and country make her songs seem somehow both refreshingly unique and familiar at the same time, a difficult combination that is a whole lot easier to talk about than to actually achieve.
Arnau grew up in Greenville, SC, in the foothills of the Appalachians and inherited her love of music from her father, a textile worker and keyboard player. She moved to New York City in the mid-'90s and has been a regular in the music scene there ever since, releasing several independent albums, including
