One of A Kind, the album of guitar creation collection, based on Xiong Tianping’s personal works, was produced in 1988. It was the time when I was stimulated
by passion to create for pure music performance , to diverge from popular music, and more importantly ,to escape from the lifestyle of making music for a living. I always have such determination as I would live to make music but not, or never to make a living by making music. The determination , as hours tripped rapidly, slowly evolved into a mission. When it came to the right time, the year of 2018, I got myself in motion without any hesitation, leaving idling and drifting far behind, just as the salmons sail up the stream to lay eggs.
April 16th, the album was named as such after I accomplished the first piece of work on April 16th 2018.
The album April 16th is a storming warrior, a decisive and resolute leader, a diligent ant, voicing the resolution, the breakthrough, and the positive energy. Ever since then, I would never ever make music for a living or for any particular singing stars. I would make music of the music, by the music and for the music, the music flowing from my soul.
