An R&B artist who applies a gospel background to his wholly contemporary approach,
K'ron made a name for himself with "Round of Applause," a viral 2014 single that led to work with
Ty Dolla $ign and a contract with Atlantic. The singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer released his first major-label project,
Wild Lova, Vol. 1, in 2018.
Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Maryland, Quoran Williams, known professionally as
K'ron, developed a love for music through his mother and got his start as a musician by playing drums in church. Mentored by founding
Blackbyrds member
Keith Killgo,
K'ron performed with a traveling choir and branched out to beatmaking and songwriting. He devoted himself to secular music full-time following a couple years of college, and in 2014 stood out with a sparkling, part-trap slow jam, "Round of Applause," that went viral.
K'ron subsequently worked on material for other artists, most notably
Ty Dolla $ign's "Like a Drug," which he produced and co-wrote.
K'ron continued to release tracks on his own and eventually joined
Ty on the Atlantic Records roster as a solo artist.
K'ron's major-label debut was released in July 2018 with the
Ty collaboration "No BFs." A seven-track EP entitled
Wild Lova, Vol. 1 arrived three months later. In 2019, he issued the single "Decline." ~ Andy Kellman
