An internationally known composer of healing music and a pioneer in the women's spirituality movement, Kay Gardner takes the listener on an inspirational journey through the curative and transformative ingredients of music and sound, offering insights into their origins and mysteries and how they may be used in the healing process. Kay Gardner's many albums, on the Ladyslipper label, have featured acoustic instrumentation using the principles of droning, toning, mantra, and chant; harmonics/stairway to the spiritual; rhythm as pulse; and melody/heart and soul of music. Kay Gardner has written for several professional music journals, for Women's Music and Culture publications, and for spirituality pages. She regularly teaches workshops on the healing properties of music and sound at the Omega Institute of Holistic Studies and has been invited to medical schools (including Yale) to present her views. Years of research on this subject went into Kay's book, Sounding the Inner Landscape: Music as Medicine. In 1994, she released the oratorio, Ourobourosa, a broad work featuring soloists, a 40-piece orchestra and a 100-voice chorus. In 1996, she followed with Drone Zone. Dancing Souls was issued four years later. © TiVo
