Introspective, poised, and wise beyond his years, South Memphis rapper
Kevo Muney has experienced a relatively fast ascent. The melodic and versatile MC made his commercial debut in his late teens and has a handful of full-length projects to his credit, including the Atlantic-issued
Baby G.O.A.T. (2019) and
Lucille's Grandson (2021).
Muney, whose mind was set on rapping at a very early age, started recording in the late 2010s, self-releasing tracks and mixtapes. The defiant anthem "Don't Know Me," off
Who Am I, got the attention of major-label Atlantic and led to a deal announced in November 2019. "Testimony" and the nine-track set
Baby G.O.A.T., the latter of which boasted appearances from Memphis dwellers
BlocBoy JB and
Tay Keith, were out by the end of the year. This was followed in 2020 with
Muney's reflective
Leave Some Day EP. A mixtape,
Lucille's Grandson, arrived in 2021 with appearances from
Lil Durk and
NLE Choppa.~ Andy Kellman
