You know you've made it when Kumbia King A.B. Quintanilla takes your band under his wing. La Pura Neta's 2005 debut got just such a push, but the group would probably do well without such august patronage. They navigate the tricky territory that lies between cumbia and hip-hop -- and they do it well, falling out on the side of hip-hop.
