Larry Brown

Considered something of a studio genius, Larry Brown started his music career as a drummer and percussionist with surf music bands such as Davie Allan and the Arrows and the Challengers. Eventually he must have become a pretty busy beaver at sessions, handling engineering and production chores as well. At least there weren't arguments between engineer, producer and drummer about the drum sound -- unless Brown was schizophrenic, that is. No enemy of modernizing, he was involved early in the game with synthesized and electric drums, but was often content to stick with engineering chores as the years went on. ~ Eugene Chadbourne
