Lets Tokyo is an American pop/alternative/r&b group, formed in 2009 by Garrett James, Scott Hunter, and Stephen Baker. Following the release of their debut EP, “A New York Story,” Lets Tokyo quickly earned regional success, placed two singles in independent films, garnered the attention of industry heavy hitters, and opened for Grammy award winning artist, Lupe Fiasco - all without the support of a label, manager or publisher. In 2011, the group took an unexpected hiatus and the rapidly growing momentum they had generated suddenly came to a grinding halt. It wasn’t until 2016, nearly five years to the date later, that conversations about reforming emerged. In the early months of 2017, the group picked up where they left off, this time with added vocalist and songwriter, Ara, who had begun dating James while living in Brooklyn two years before. Since relaunching, Lets Tokyo has been working relentlessly in the studio; writing, producing and mixing all their own music. They’ve already released several new singles off their upcoming album, “Gemini,” each with their own accompanying music video, filmed, directed and edited by the group. Lets Tokyo plans to begin touring in 2018 and will continue to release music independently under their own label, Make Life.
