Alongside his mixmate
Diplo, DJ
Low B (aka
Low Budget) formed the acclaimed Philly club duo Hollertronix in early 2000. Injecting bits of soul, dancehall, hip-hop, disco, and the (at the time) just-surfacing Baltimore club movement into their sets, Hollertronix's dance parties began attracting massive attention at Philly clubs like the 700. In the mid-2000s,
Low B began striking out on his own, bringing his eclectic dance mix to clubs all over the States and traveling to the world's most notable club hubs -- packing the dancefloors wherever he set up shop. Along with sets released under the Hollertronix moniker,
Low B also put out several solo DJ sets that highlighted his love for all dance-based genres, particularly the potent combination of uptempo dancehall and Baltimore club that he christened "Club Shotta." ~ J. Scott McClintock
