Mark Salling

Mark Salling

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Mark Salling began his entertainment career as a child actor, landing a role in Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering in 1996 and guest starring in Walker, Texas Ranger three years later. Hoping to find work as a musician instead, he eventually moved to California, where he attended the Los Angeles Music Academy and paid the bills by teaching guitar lessons. Meanwhile, he recorded his own songs under the stage name Jericho and released an independent album, Smoke Signals, in 2008. One year later, Salling landed the role of Noah "Puck" Puckerman in Glee, a Fox TV series that allowed him to act, sing, and play guitar.
Glee became an unexpected hit. Salling began making appearances on the show’s highly popular soundtracks and cracked the Top 40 with his own version of “Sweet Caroline,” which appeared on the platinum-selling Glee: The Music, Vol. 1. Meanwhile, he continued working on his own music, eventually releasing a second record, Pipe Dreams, under his own name in 2010. ~ Andrew Leahey
