With her unique voice, music, and lyrics that far belie her 27 years, Detroit born Mayaeni is suddenly an ‘overnight’ sensation. Her song “Nothing Inside” with acclaimed DJ/Producer Sander Van Doorn (which she co-wrote with Justin Parker of Lana del Rey Video Games
fame) was a smash. After a first performance for over 20,000 people at Ultra in Miami in March, ‘Nothing Inside’ became a breakout summer 2012 hit and a favorite in clubs around the world.

The daughter of a West African mother and a Jewish father, a former guitar player who played with Sylvester, Carl Carlton and Jimmy Ruffin, it’s safe to say that Mayaeni has music running through her veins. She’s put in the work, and the industry has evidently taken notice.
In September 2012, the rising star signed a record deal with Roc Nation, instantly landing her on the same team as music heavyweights like Rihanna, J. Cole, Calvin Harris, Jay Electronica, and, of course, Jay-Z. The drop on Mayaeni is that her first major label album is currently in the works.
Needless to say, she’s in good hands.
