Barbiero was born June 25, 1949, in Long Island, NY. He was a remixer during the disco era.
Steve Thompson was familiar with
Barbiero's work and tapped his versatile services when he was in search of an engineer. Teaming, the two had dance hits, then decided to concentrate on rock, with Geffen Records band City Kids being their first project. The band evolved into
