A singer and songwriter who plays country music with a rock & roll edge,
Michael Tyler hails from Thayer, Missouri. A self-taught musician,
Tyler began making music at the age of eight, and he was discovered at the age of 13 by
Michael Knox, a producer best known for his work with
Jason Aldean.
Knox corresponded with the talented youngster, offering advice on songwriting, for several years before
Tyler came to Nashville to play a show at Tootsies Orchid Lounge. Before long,
Tyler settled in Nashville and, with
Knox's help, landed a publishing deal with Peer Music.
Tyler made a name for himself as a songwriter, and his material was cut by the likes of
Jason Aldean,
LOCASH, and
Dierks Bentley, who enjoyed a number one country hit with
Tyler's "Somewhere on a Beach." After finding success writing tunes,
Tyler took the next step and began establishing himself as a performer.
Tyler landed a recording contract with Reviver Music, and in June 2016 he released his first single, "Crazy Last Night." ~ Mark Deming
