Mon-O-Phone

Mon-O-Phone

Belgian duo

On ‘Escapism’, Mon-o-Phone is dragging you in to their fantasy world. A multicolour stylized delusion where echoes and egos in the year 2014 continuously navigate between fact and fiction, dream and reality, hope (or despair) and (dis)illusion. It’s an obvious and natural snapshot of two restless people who struggle with themselves, each other and the delusion of the day. Their only way out lies in the subtle swathe of the harsh reality and to create a captivating script for an imaginary escape. In other words, ‘Escapism’ became a very intense and sensual album. Due to the tribal rhythms and the ingenious sounds of Koen Brouwers that grant relief to the vocals of Ciska Vanhoyland, the sound of Mon-o-Phone is more melodic and transparent. For the band, ‘Escapism’ is the logical sequel to the EP ‘Two’ (2012), including the audience favourites ‘Every part Of This World’ and ‘In The Water’. Mon-o-Phone debuted in 2011 with ‘The Great Depression of Mr and Ms Phono’. The band has already shared the stage with The Black Box Revelation and SX.
