Ouilfreed MEYOU - real name Wilfried Meyoupa Noumbissi - is a young singer and songwriter born in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon. Although his music is sometimes described as part of the KameRnB movement, it really belongs to afro soul and afro pop with some melodious and melancholy scents inspired by Cameroonian musical traditions. Revealed by the "Dream Coca-Cola" music contest he won in 2004, Ouilfreed represented the famous brand during two years. Not only was he selected for an African tour as ambassador of Coca Cola but he also recorded 3 songs for the compilation "Dream Coca-Cola": 2 solo tracks , "Regarde " and "Boa Su" and "Hey Ho Hey Ho", a single with the other finalists which enjoyed heavy promotion in Cameroon and in Africa with the collaboration of Trace TV. OUILFREED also collaborated with Koppo, Krotal and the band MACASE on Cameroonian and African festivals. His track " En Quête d’Amour (Quest For Love) » was then selected for the "Kamer Konnexion" compilation together with several renowned hip hop artists from Cameroon." He released his first CD YAYATO (“Welcome” in a Cameroonian dialect) in January 2014. This album contains 12 tracks mainly sung in Pidgin English and bamileke. The first single “OUSSAI YOU DI GO” (Where are you going?), reached the 6th position at the Pan-African competition StarAfrica Sound 2014 – organized by Orange Africa – and was included in the eponymous compilation featuring songs from 10 finalists.
