Barbara Naa Okailey Nyarko popularly known, as ‘OV’ is a multitalented young and versatile
artist with a blend of Reggae, Dancehall & Afropop. Born on 4th December 1998 attended
Ghana Senior High school Koforidua in the Eastern Region. OV started of, as a dancer
although her passion was singing. Since infancy she has had a keen interest in playing the
guitar and became known by schoolmates and the public as “skelebarbs” because of her
ability to dance, this led her to winning several certificates for been the best dancer in her
formal senior high school Upon completing her senior high school education wanted to start
of her musical career.

Okailey Verse (OV) recorded her first single with Reynolds The Gentleman a multi-
Instrumentalist and producer after he discovered her on Instagram. This gave OV the
opportunity to perform in some know venues across the capital such as“Piano Bar ”
“Serallio” &“Badu Lounge ” She also had the opportunity to open up for some renowned
mainstream Ghanaian artists like Gemini, Ayigbe Edem and more.

OV pursued her dream and followed up with three singles namely ‘Kambu’, ‘My Mind Dey’
& ‘Akoto’ she then subsequently entered for what is said to be the biggest talent contest in
Ghana, ‘MTN Hit Maker’ popularly known for establishing acts like KiDi, Kuami Eugene,
Kurlx Songz and more. To which she won after several vigorous rounds. Okaileys success at
MTN Hit Maker led her to winning 100,00 Ghana Cedis (20,000USD) and being signed to
Burniton Music Group, the Independent record label owned by 42 time award winning
Reggae/Dancehall act Stonebwoy.
