OverTime

OverTime

American hip hop/country

Overtime is an American actor/singer/songwriter who's know for blue collar, working class style of music that mixes hip-hop, country, and rock. Born in Bozeman, MT, the youngest of five children to his parents, OverTime grew up with a two-family life after the divorce of his parents when he was three years old. Shortly after the divorce, OverTime moved to Missoula, MT where he experience a more "city-like" life with his mother where he resides today. His father, a miner and rancher, remained the small country town of Whitehall, MT where OverTime spent his summers. The value of hard work was learned at an early by growing up in a classic "blue collar" family. His mother, worked for the railroad throughout his entire life and spent 50+ hours working per week. His father set an example by working more hours at the mines and on the ranch. As OverTime grew, sports became a major part of his life. At 16, his mother took a job in rural Montana (Absorkee, MT) that didn't offer his primary sport (baseball). His parents agreed to let him live in Missoula by himself to he could pursue competitive sports while maintaining his grade. Parties then became more of focus and this began a long period of drinking and drug abuse. At 20 years old, he made the decision to put down drugs and start making music. Making rap music in Montana caused a lot of scrutiny but he was still lead to create his first album in 2006 working as a painter and touring around Montana. He often paid his promoters just to get the stage time. It became clear to him that the music industry was not looking to sign rapper from Montana, so he began the study of the industry itself. He learned how to be his own team: his own booking agent, his own marketing team, his own manager. For years, he was creating music and an image that only reflected what he heard on the radio and seen on TV. In 2015, it clicked. He wanted to go back to his roots and just be the image of himself. He's the kid that rides horseback, ATV's, motorcycles, shoots guns, and wears "work" style jeans, plays in the mud, and listens to Randy Travis. In recent years, many have become fans of his music. His most successful album to date is "The Foundation" released in 2016, which features hit songs "Hunger in my Stomach" and "Next to Me". His last album, "United We Stand," released in 2018, and charted in three different genres on Billboard. It hit the R&B, Hip Hop, Country, and Heatseekers Mountain Chart.
