Los Angeles-based musician
Paris Shadows combines a rock edge and hip-hop production in an emo-rap style reminiscent of a grittier
Post Malone. Named after a 1993 live
Cure album, the artist born Paris Vasquez is also a cellist and former fire fighter who was influenced by
blink-182,
Linkin Park, and
Black Sabbath. Spinning hedonistic tales filled with sex and drugs, he made his hip-hop debut in 2018 with the singles "Bones" and "Po'ed Up" with
Gunna. Burgeoning popularity on streaming applications led to a supporting slot on tour with
Post Malone and
21 Savage. His debut,
ONE NIGHT IN PARIS (300 Entertainment), arrived later that year and featured appearances by
Trippie Redd ("Gone") and drummer
Travis Barker ("Crushin"). ~ Neil Z. Yeung
