English singer/songwriter
Philip Plested got his start as part of the rock outfit
Chasing Grace. After they disbanded, he focused his efforts on songwriting for U.K. pop acts such as
Little Mix and
Zayn. Following years of demos and singles, he issued his solo debut EP,
First & Foremost.
Based in London,
Plested was co-vocalist in
Chasing Grace from 2011 until early 2016. When the quartet broke up, he turned to songwriting, penning tracks for
Little Mix,
Fleur East,
Zayn,
Emeli Sandé,
James Morrison, and many more. At the same time, he issued his first solo single, "I O U," which he followed with "Habits" in 2017. By 2018, a steady stream of singles built up to the release of his first effort,
First & Foremost (Atlantic). Showcasing his passionate, yearning vocals and pastoral guitar work, the EP included the single "Your Name." ~ Neil Z. Yeung
