Rob Veal

Veal was the bass player and one of the songwriters in the Athens, Ga., band the Dashboard Saviors, and he's an on-again/off-again sideman to Vic Chesnutt. His own music is a laconic combination of folk, country and rock, shot through with a sense of slightly stoned experimentalism. His dry, wavering vocal presence is offset by smart songs, stellar arrangements, and the sparkling production in which he couches them. Veal plays a number of instruments and is aided by Jack Logan's frequent collaborator Kelly Keneipp.
