Rod Evans

British born, Rod Evans first graced the world in January of 1945. He first hit the big time with Deep Purple as their vocalist, from their inception in 1968 until Ian Gillan replaced him. He recorded two studio albums with the group, Shades of Deep Purple and The Book of Taliesyn. When Captain Beyond formed in 1972, he was their lead singer and performed on their self-titled album and the follow-up, Sufficiently Breathless. ~ Gary Hill
