Seely

Seely

Seely had the unique distinction of being the first American band signed to the envelope-pushing British label Too Pure back in '96. Their sound combined airy male/female-fronted Indie pop with crisp, droning percussion that managed to eke out a niche for itself in a musical world not lacking in heavenly-voiced guitar bands. They combined dreamy, shoegazing ideals of the early '90s with a more current Dub-influenced instrumental outlook. They devised somewhat more complex melodies than many of their contemporaries, and the xylophones and glittery guitar effects made for a driving, inviting divergence.
